From mounting and dismounting (for various scenarios!), communication skills for forward movement (gaits- walk, trot etc...)and halting/slowing, turning, lateral movements to negotiating hills, obstacles etc...
These lessons take place in the arena, the arena fields and our local network of trails
Examples of Horse Knowledge
It takes more than riding skills to make great horse people. In these sessions you will learn everything from grooming and tacking up and safety around horses to the principles around 'catching your horse', understanding equine language and reading their behaviors, and understanding what your body language represents to the horse and much more.
